What quietly eats your Amazon profit

How do you calculate Amazon profit per unit?
Net profit per unit = selling price − product cost − Amazon fees − ad spend per unit. Everything left after the cost to make the item, the fees Amazon takes, and the advertising attributed to that sale is your real profit. This calculator does that subtraction and also shows your margin and ROI.

Which Amazon fees should I include?
Include every per-unit charge: the referral fee (a percentage of price), the FBA or fulfilment fee, and any per-unit storage, prep or return-handling cost you carry. Enter them as one combined fees figure. Leaving fees out makes your profit look higher than it really is.

What is a healthy Amazon profit margin?
It varies by category and model, but many sellers aim for a net margin in the 15–30% range after all fees and ad spend. Thin-margin commodity products run lower; differentiated or private-label products can run higher. The right target is one that survives a bad-returns month and still funds restock.

Does this include ad spend?
