Wasted search terms (the usual culprit)
Clicks on searches that never buy inflate ACoS fast. Pull your search-term report, find clicks-with-no-orders, and block them as negative keywords. This is the quickest ACoS win.
Bids higher than the keyword can support
If you bid the same on everything, low-converting keywords bleed. Trim bids toward what each keyword's real conversion rate justifies — not a flat number.
A listing that does not convert
Sometimes the ads are fine and the listing is the problem: a weak image, high price or few reviews means you pay for clicks that bounce. Improving conversion lowers ACoS without touching a bid.
Bring it down — and keep it down
